Day 65– Sep 2, 2005, Friday: Spirit, pizza and coke

We had an amazing morning with Connie at lecture this morning. She talked about the different gifts of the spirit and just prayed for us. She had staff people come up and tell us about times they have seen the gifts of the spirit in action. It was awesome. There were times of people being healed, times of people speaking in tongues (I’m not quite used to this one yet) times of people having the gift of specific knowledge about someone. I grew up with very little exposure to the gifts of the spirit, so a lot of this is pretty new to me. I can’t wait to see more for myself!

After this we had a team meeting and were all assigned different tasks for the team. Ruth is in charge of arranging fun things (here and in Africa). I am in charge of T shirts and prayer/intercession. Then Ruth had some time with Karen to talk with a mom who has been on outreach with kids. They both got a lot of encouragement from her, so it was great.

Dinner tonite…pizza and coke. It was perfect preparation for the rugby game (on TV) at Greg’s house where we had pizza and coke again. We watched the All Blacks (NZ) beat the Aussies to win the Tri-Nations. Apparently it’s a big deal. I figure it can’t be too big a deal if there are only 3 nations, but they think otherwise J. I’ll probably get beat up for typing that. We had fun watching the game though.
