Day 68– Sep 5, 2005, Monday: Labor Day at the beach
We took advantage of having a car and a day off and went to Hapuna beach. We had an awesome day. The waves were quite small, so they were perfect to teach the kids how to boogie board. They both loved it. We were boardin’ in the ocean for hours. Jess is pretty good with the swimming these days, so she went by herself a few times. One time she leaned a little too far forward on the board and went head over heels in the water. It scared her a little bit, but she kept at it. Jonny had the famous blow up vest on. He’d fall off his board and pop up in the wave somewhere. He loved it.
After partying at the beach we came back home and cleaned up and had a speaker tonite. He’s yet another totally different speaker. Neil something…I’ll get the last name tomorrow. This guy is from Texas and he speaks it like it is. He doesn’t worry about offending people. I thought he was good, but he is easy to take the wrong way as well. He lives in Houston and they have about 25,000 refugee’s from New Orleans there. He has some good stories about helping those folks out last week as they arrived in town with nothing..no clothes…no food…nothing. I’m looking forward to hearing more of what he has to say.
