Day 39– Aug 7, 2005, Sunday: Clean up

Some of you might be familiar with these little characters. Geckos. They are everywhere. The Bells have about 10 of them living in their room. The kids all call them Peter (I'm not sure what the story is there). Jessika is a pro at catching them. She is known amoung the kids as the gecko catcher. Today Donna let out a scream from her house because one of them jumped off of the wall onto her. I was just upset that I didn't get to see it :)

Today is clean up day for our ‘house’. Apparently we are about half way through the quarter and tomorrow they check rooms to make sure they are clean. They actually have a checklist and everything. So, after we went to church we came home and cleaned. Can you sense the excitement?

Speaking of exciting, we’ve been praying the last three nights with the Bells (AUS) the Sunnexes (NZ) and the Richards (NZ) for all of our finances. It’s a fairly stressful thing to need so much and have so little control over it. The Bells needed someone to rent their house. They are going on an extended (5 month) outreach to Sudan. We prayed for renters on Friday night, and on Saturday they got a call that their house is rented! It was awesome. The Richards needed $4000, as they have borrowed all they could and thrown in all their own money. This morning they got an email declaring a donation of (you guessed it) $4000. God will provide. Ruth and I are currently in need of $12500. It seems like a lot, but come on! How big is God? When Thursday comes (the money is due then) I am convinced it will be here.

To those of you who have helped out already financially. THANK YOU We praise God for you and the gifts you have given.

To those of you who haven’t yet, but plan to. THANK YOU (it’s due Aug 11!)

To those of you who have committed to Pray! THANK YOU! God hears your prayers and we thrive on them.

Here is the sunset as seen from our room. It's a bit fuzzy because of the screen and we can only see it if we go into the corner of the room, but it's good
